Employer Programs

Employer education offers payroll, human resources, and business managers an opportunity to learn and review PERA’s membership and reporting requirements. Attendees are able to ask questions and receive answers in real time at the end of each session during our Q & A session to provide clarification or further discussion as needed.

PERA webinars are FREE to attend, but you must register in advance to access each session.

2024 Legislative Update

The 2024 Pension and Retirement Policy and Supplemental Budget Bill was signed into law on May 15. This program will highlight the impact this bill will have on the administration of PERA benefits, and will help guide employers on what actions to take.

What does it cover?

This program will cover legislative changes related to:

– Defined Contribution Plan (DCP) election rules

– Correctional Plan rates

– The definition of police officers and firefighters for P&F Plan eligibility

Understanding ERIS

The Employer Reporting and Information System (ERIS) is a web-based tool that employers use to complete their PERA reporting tasks. If you have questions about ERIS, then you have come to the right place! This new training program will cover everything you need to know in order to access and utilize ERIS.

What does it cover?

An overview of ERIS: What is it, what is its purpose, and who uses it?

The step-by-step process for creating accounts for your agency.

Explore ERIS: An overview of each module on the ERIS menu and information on how to enroll and update member accounts.

Length: 30 minutes (presentation) + 15 minutes for questions (total run time of 45 minutes)

Intro to PERA Eligibility

This brand-new program focuses in on a highly requested topic—eligibility. What qualifies an employee for PERA membership? What excludes them? And which PERA plan should they be enrolled in? This free webinar training will answer all those questions and more.

What does it cover?

-Eligibility: Intro to PERA membership eligibility rules

-Monthly salary threshold: How it applies to employees, and how PERA calculates salary

-Exclusions: Which employees are excluded from PERA, and how the exclusion process works

-Enrollment: Determining which plan to enroll employees

On Demand Leave Reporting Webinar (Updated Program)

It’s been a year since the new leave reporting process rolled out.
