PERA Board of Trustees Seeking Candidates

PERA’s Board of Trustees is seeking candidates for two open positions:

POSITION 1: ELECTED GENERAL MEMBERSHIP REPRESENTATIVE

PERA is soliciting a candidate to fill the remainder of a four year term, which ends in January 2027. Candidates must be active members of either the Police & Fire Plan, Correctional Plan, or General Plan.

How to Apply

Candidates must submit two items: (1) a letter of interest and (2)  a biographical sketch limited to 300 words. Submit your biographical sketch electronically via secured email to gladys.rodriguez@mnpera.org. If you need help with sending a secured email, reach out to Gladys for instructions.

Deadline

The letter of interest and biographical sketch must be received electronically between 8:00 am on December 19, 2023, through 4:30 pm on January 19, 2024.

Review Process

A subcommittee of the Board of Trustees will meet to review candidate submissions if the number of interested applicants exceeds five. The subcommittee is authorized by the full Board to recommend three to five candidates to be considered by the full Board for appointment at the February 8, 2024 board meeting.

POSITION 2: APPOINTED RETIRED ANNUITANT REPRESENTATIVE

PERA has an opportunity for you to serve on the Board of Trustees to represent retired annuitants.  This position is for a four-year term and appointed by the governor.

Individuals can apply online through the Office of the Secretary of State’s website, sos.state.mn.us, under Boards and Commissions -> Open Positions.

Deadline

Applications will be accepted until the governor appoints the trustee.
